The Rolex Submariner was being described to me as a very versatile watch - daily beater, dress watch, looks good with different straps and bands, etc. I choose the No Date version (114060), because the dial looked cleaner to me.
Rolex steel prices and the whole AD game are getting ridiculous though, so I recently picked up a VSF 114060. These are my personal impressions going from genuine to replica. First of all, the VSF is incredibly close to the original. The long awaited model VSF 114060 Submariner No Data has been released a few days ago.. The Ben Bridge receipt looks legit (shop there often) and unless an employee of Ben Bridge put a replicas serial number in the system (can't see this happening) it would not match your watch. No one would be able to custom order a . Will potentially be getting a pre-owned Rolex 114060, my very first. A friend is selling this at a good price, but want to do my due diligence first and seek expert advise to check authenticity. All feedback are welcome.
Looking at the specs, the glaring thing I see missing is the Paraflex shock system. Rolex went through the trouble of making a new movement for these big-case watches with the new 3132 that the Explorer sports. Why isn't this new Sub good enough for the latest movement.. another head scratching omission.. #1.
