However, over time the auto wind does wear and lose lubrication, so may not function as good as it could. Also, the watch will only have as much power in it as you put into it each day. The main issue is that it keeps stopping. For example, I gave it a good wind this past Monday morning (40-50 turns) and it stopped Wed afternoon on my wrist. I wore the watch each day, all day, except of course at night. Winding problem - Easy fix, Maintenance indicator, or Bigger Issue. Have an issue that I was hoping to getting some input on. My submariner will wind on my wrist but not when turning the crown. Over the past month, the crown seemed to become tighter when turning.
My submariner is having this problem, the age of the watch is around 3 yrs old and bought brand new. When I pulled out the triple lock crown for time changed, I realized the seconds hand are still moving and I am able to change my time.
First is for winding, second is for setting the date which only advance and only when turning in one direction, and the third is for setting the time which will move the hands in two directions.
