Putting an ETA 2834
It looks like a dial spacer is provided. You can see dial holes in the spacers at 12 and 42 minutes (ETA positions) in both those samples. However, your kit has a movement holder that the movement sits into and then the dial feet go into the movement holder. So you would not use the dial spacer. Modding your watch by replacing the damaged dial is probably easier than a case/movement swap. Doing a movement swap is possible in some situations, you'll have to reposition the dial feet and find a different movement spacer, get new hands that fit NH35.
So before going any further, I would make sure that your daywheel overlay fonts WILL fit to your dial day window. Take the hands off, and position the overlay where it should go and set your dial over it.
The 2834-2 is fitted at the factory with the same date disc as used on the 2824-2. If you are going to remove the 2834-2 "day-at-twelve" disc and go with a straight date only display, I would suggest using a 2836-2 disc, as it will bring the date to the bottom of the window.
The Stilty spacer is precision made and is a very good fit when using an Eta 28xx in a genuine rolex case. I have an MBK '5513' case with a rolex 1520 in it and am going to put an Eta 2846 in it later using a Stilty Spacer. Generally you can go to ebay and search a specific movement + dial and get at least a dozen results. For the 2834-2 movement with fully spelled-out day, this isn't the case: there's gaudy/ugly faux-rolex dials being sold with movements, and only a few other dials. To use a Rolex dial with date window and with original dial feet on ETA be aware that an origin ETA date-wheel doesn’t fit between the Rolex dial feet. Therefore the ETA date-wheel need to be milled down in diameter and some additional work has to be done.
I've seen some new 2834-2 movements on Ebay, but I'm worried that the existing day and date discs in the original movement (which are in good shape) won't fit a new movement. So is there somewhere to source good quality vintage Bulova movements?
Your best bet would be an eta 2824-2 if your case is meant for a 3135 movement. I've used a 12.5''' eta 12892 movement. The diameter fits the rolex case, but you need a .37mm spacer between the dial and movement in order for the stem to line up with the case tube. Would a genuine Rolex Day Date for 36mm dial fit on a Bulova Super Seville. Title says it all really. If you're planning on doing mods you need to learn a whole lot more no one is going to be able to explain everything in this thread to someone who thinks the above would work.
